Get Answers to Your Dental Questions in Encinitas & Escondido

Many of our patients have questions about their dental care, so you are not alone if you do, too. Dr. Willes, Dr. Golshan, and the entire staff of Willes Dental enjoy educating our patients on dentistry and how to keep their smiles healthy.

Below are some of the questions our patients frequently ask us. We thought you might find them helpful. If you have any other questions, please call our friendly staff at either of our convenient locations. You can reach our Encinitas dentist office at 760-576-2214 or our Escondido dentist office at 760-477-0338.

Q: What is the best toothbrush to use?

Soft-bristle toothbrushes are much better for your teeth and gums than medium- or hard-bristle brushes. A soft toothbrush will clean your teeth without damaging sensitive tissues in your mouth. Also, be sure to use the proper size brush for your mouth. Buy a smaller brush for a smaller mouth and a larger brush for a larger mouth.

Q: I’m nervous about going to the dentist. Is there any way you can help?

Yes. We want your visit to be comfortable and stress-free. That’s why we offer oral conscious sedation with a small pill. Dr. Willes or Dr. Golshan will give you a prescription for it ahead of time. Just take the pill about one hour before your appointment. Be sure to have someone available to drive you home, as the pill’s effects will take a few hours to wear off.

Q: Do you do anything special for new patients?

Yes, we certainly do! We love to see new patients come in, so we are currently offering a New Patient Special for only $99. Each new patient will receive a complete dental exam (including an oral cancerscreening), a set of full-mouth X-rays, and a thorough teeth cleaning.
